Weekend Book Giveaway: Secret Heart

This week we’re giving away a brand new copy of Secret Heart, written by one of our own teen librarians, Danielle Dreger-Babbitt!

From the publisher: Avery Jennings is a punk-rock guitarist with a secret weakness for rom-coms and Taylor Swift. Madison Shea is a student council president with a douchebag boyfriend. Their orbits collide at Oak Bluff High’s inaugural Gay-Straight Alliance meeting, and soon they’re making out in school bathrooms and holding hands under tables. Their secret relationship is put to the ultimate test when the student council vetoes a proposal for a gay-friendly prom and the GSA decides to throw a free Unprom in protest… with Avery leading the band. If Unprom is more popular than Prom, Madison will hold it against Avery, and Avery will lose her shot at taking their relationship public.

For your chance to win, tell us about a time a friend asked you to keep something secret and you didn’t want to (no need to tell us the secret!). How did it make you feel? How did it change you friendship?

Winner will be picked on Tuesday, May 16th, 2017 with the assistance of Random Number Generator. Be sure to leave a name with your entry, and check back to see if you won. To win you must be a teen (6th-12th grade, or age 12-18) who uses a Sno-Isle Library.

Once when I had to keep a secret for my friend, I didn’t agree with keeping what she told me a secret. I’m someone who’s open and direct with people. I felt really cornered because I wasn’t sure if i should keep the secret or not. After that, we drifted apart. And we’re no longer friends.

my friend has a crush on this guy. and she told me. I’m pretty good friends with the guy, and I want to tell him about my other friend, but she told me to keep it a secret. I really want to tell, BUT I WILL HOLD BACK!
