Weekend Book Giveaway: When Dimple Met Rishi

This week we’re giving away an Advanced Reading Copy of When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. It will be released on Tuesday, May 30th and you could be one of the first people to read it!

From the publisher: A laugh-out-loud, heartfelt YA romantic comedy, told in alternating perspectives, about two Indian-American teens whose parents have arranged for them to be married. Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now , they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?

Rishi Patel is a hopeless romantic. So when his parents tell him that his future wife will be attending the same summer program as him—wherein he’ll have to woo her—he’s totally on board. Because as silly as it sounds to most people in his life, Rishi wants to be arranged, believes in the power of tradition, stability, and being a part of something much bigger than himself. The Shahs and Patels didn’t mean to start turning the wheels on this “suggested arrangement” so early in their children’s lives, but when they noticed them both gravitate toward the same summer program, they figured, Why not? Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.

Confession: I’ve been dying to read this! It looks like so much fun.

For your chance to win tell me about a time your parents or a friend wanted you to do something that you didn’t want to do. What happened? Were you glad you did it or did you regret it?

Winner will be picked on Tuesday, May 30th with the assistance of Random Number Generator. Be sure to leave a name with your entry, and check back to see if you won. To win you must be a teen (6th-12th grade, or age 12-18) who uses a Sno-Isle Library.

I was really uncomfortable speaking in public and when I had to give a public presentation for 4-H in order the qualify for fair I didn’t want to do it. My mom helped me practice a lot and by the end I did well. Thanks to that every time I speak in front of large groups it gets easier. In fact just this week I was one of speakers/presenters at the NW Film Festival in Seattle 🙂

I was really afraid to read I story I had written aloud to my English class, my friends all told me I would do great, and they helped calm my nervousness, and I’m really glad I did it, and I’ve even been getting compliments on my stories.
