Top 3 Right Now: Sandra

This week we are featuring Sandra, the branch manager at our Brier Library.  In her spare time, she appears to be another viking! (Are all of our teen folks secretly vikings???)

Whatchya digging, Sandra?

Popular: Vintage Wisdom for a Modern Geek by Maya Van Wagenen

Funny and touching memoir about an 8th grader’s attempts to be popular by following Betty Cornell’s Teen-Age Popularity Guide from the 1950’s.

Shadow Hero by Gene Luen Yang

Revival of the first Asian-American superhero Green Turtle who originally appeared in the 1940’s. An interesting origin story with plenty of humor, action, and enjoyable characters.

Monster on the Hill by Rob Harrell

Loved the illustrations, particularly the different monsters throughout the book. Lots of fun and a different take on your typical monster story.”

Thanks Sandra!  Those are some great sounding books.

If you would like to be featured on our T3RN, email and include:

  • The titles of the three books that teens would enjoy (they can be published for any age group).
  • One or two sentences describing what it is about each book that has you in its grip right now.
  • A photo of yourself.  If you are shy you can use an avatar, but you can also have a lot of fun with this.  We like wacky!

Next week: Emily from Monroe
