Top 3 Right Now: Emily from Monroe

This week we are featuring Emily, our teen librarian at the Monroe branch.

Here is Emily getting ready to pump some water during her hikes in the Enchantments last year. Way to use your wilderness skillz, Emily!

So, Emily, what have you read lately that you think others should check out?
Moon Girl and the Devil Dinosaur, Vol. 1 by Brandon Montclare
I love Lunella Lafayette! She’s smart, fearless, and has her own underground secret lab. Volume 2 just came out a couple of months ago, and I’m really looking forward to that, too.
The Hidden Life of Trees – What They Feel, How they Communicate:Discoveries from a Secret World by Peter Wohlleben
This series of short essays by a German forester has changed the way I look at the trees around my house. It’s a fun mix of scientific studies and affectionate anecdotes from a man who has dedicated his life to the forest.

March: Book Three by John Lewis
I’m finally finishing this excellent trilogy by Civil Rights Leader and United States Congressman John Lewis. It’s a fascinating and important history, and the graphic novel style has me turning the pages and reading eagerly.
Those are some most excellent suggestions, Emily – thanks!

If you would like to be featured on our T3RN, email and include:

  • The titles of the three books that teens would enjoy (they can be published for any age group).
  • One or two sentences describing what it is about each book that has you in its grip right now.
  • A photo of yourself.  We like wacky!
