Top 3 Right Now: Bryan

Hello readers!  This week we are featuring Bryan, our new Teen Contact at the Sultan Library.  How is it going, Bryan?

Don’t be scared…we just want to hear what you’ve been reading!

East by Edith Pattou – A truly stellar retelling of the classic folktale East of the Sun, West of the Moon and is akin to Beauty and the Beast and the mythological tale of Eros and Psyche. Rose, grappling with the secret surrounding her birth and ailing family, accepts the offer of an enormous polar bear to come away with it in exchange for wealth and prosperity for her family.

Little Brother by Cory Doctorow – Tech savvy teens will rejoice in the first of this high-tech series. Doctorow masters maintaining the reader’s attention through quick pacing and action without sacrificing character or plot. I was hooked from page 1.

Some We Love, Some We Hate, Some We Eat by Hal Herzog – This one came to me as a book suggestion, which I thankfully followed through on. Herzog’s exploration of the animal/human relationship challenged my own opinion of the animals I choose to love and the animals I choose to eat. Even with the harsh subject matter, I still found myself enchanted by Herzog’s insight and humor.”

Awesome suggestions, Bryan!

If you would like to be featured on our T3RN, email and include:

  • The titles of the three books that teens would enjoy (they can be published for any age group).
  • One or two sentences describing what it is about each book that has you in its grip right now.
  • A photo of yourself.  If you are shy you can use an avatar, but you can also have a lot of fun with this.  We like wacky!

Next week: maybe you?
