Readers’ Corner: Eisner Awards

Have you heard of the Eisner Awards? If you’re at all into comic books and graphic novels, you should know about them. Technically called the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, they’re basically the Oscars for comics and graphic novels. And for the 2017 awards, we’re lucky enough to have Sno-Isle’s very own Dawn Rutherford, Teen Services Coordinator, as one of the six comics experts on the judging panel!

The Eisner Awards include a whole lot of categories, but this week I’m featuring the 2016 nominees in the Teens (ages 13-17) and Kids (ages 9-12) sections, which you can find in a Sno-Isle Teens booklist. I’ve also thrown in some past winners from these categories. They’re not on the booklist, but you can find them in the Sno-Isle Libraries catalog.

Whether you’re new to graphic novels and want an idea of some good books to try out, or you’re a devoted comics fan, the books on this list will give you something great to check out.

Happy reading!
