Readers’ Corner: Cooking

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so it’s time to think about food. We all like to eat food, but learning to make it yourself can be satisfying too. Today’s featured booklist is all about Cooking, and it’s filled with books to help you get started in the kitchen or improve the skills you already have. Plus, there are tons of fun and delicious recipes.

You’ve probably heard about the recent film release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Get inspired by the world of Panem with the Unofficial Hunger Games Cookbook. You may want to whip up some Peeta’s Pita Pockets, Greasy Sae’s Spicy Vegetarian Chili, or Capitol-Grade Dark Chocolate Cake. Or be a little more adventuresome and try Prim’s Goat Cheese Truffles, District 4’s Seaweed Bread, or Rue’s Roasted Parsnips. Rabbit Pie? Fried Squirrel? Dutch Oven Tree Rat?

And don’t even get me started on the Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook

Happy reading, happy eating, and Happy Thanksgiving!
