This week we are featuring Dawn, our former Teen Services coordinator and the new manager/Teen librarian of our Brier location.
Whatcha readin’ that excites you these days, Dawn?
I seriously cannot get enough of Squirrel Girl right now. She is everything I’ve ever wanted in a comic book hero! She is smart, sassy, doesn’t wear an embarrassing risqué costume, isn’t built like a Barbie doll, and always tries to talk through problems before resorting to kicking butt. Did I mention how funny these comics are? I love them SO much.
If you are into fantasy, folklore, and magic…you will really enjoy this beautiful story. It features a tiny dragon, a witch who eats sorrow, a friendly swamp monster, and other wonderful characters you will not soon forget, and is all about the power of love and the danger of lies. Not only did it get the Newbery award, but also has been honored for the fantastic audiobook that was made of it.
Another amazing audiobook I recently enjoyed, Ghost is about a reluctant athlete who blossoms under the attention of a great coach. I’m not a huge sports fan, but I love pretty much anything Jason Reynolds writes, and this was no exception.
Sounds like some great suggestions, Dawn! It’s always great to get good audiobook recommendations since our Overdrive catalog makes them so easy to devour.
If you would like to be featured on our T3RN, email firstname.lastname@example.org and include:
