Sno-Isle Libraries librarians get ready to chat again

When coronavirus precautions forced Sno-Isle Libraries to close its community libraries on March 13, the Ask Us librarian “chat” feature was also shut down due to staffing uncertainties.

Sno-Isle Libraries customers will use Zoom to participate in Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau events.
Customers will be able to use Sno-Isle Libraries Ask Us “chat” feature again starting June 12 at askus.sno-isle.org.

Now that Sno-Isle Libraries is working to introduce some contact-free services at community libraries, the Ask Us “chat” feature will go live again on Friday, June 12.

We’re happy to announce that chat service will resume,” said Librarian Karen Marshall. “Our goal is to continue and extend the awesome, efficient online service we have been offering customers since our buildings closed in March.”

During the closure of community libraries, customers could still use the Ask Us links to get answers using text message, email or voicemail. They could also request homework help and Book-a-Librarian

When the chat service resumes, two Sno-Isle Libraries staff members will be available to answer Ask Us questions and requests from 9 a.m-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
