DARRINGTON, Wash. — The Darrington Library will dedicate its community room in honor of late library manager Linda McPherson at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21. The public is invited.

McPherson managed the library and served on the Darrington School Board for two decades. Earlier in her career, she was an oceanographer and a teacher. She was among 43 people who died on March 22, 2014, when a massive landslide destroyed homes in nearby Oso.

At the dedication, the Friends of Darrington Library will unveil a plaque featuring McPherson’s portrait. Light refreshments will be served. The library is located at 1005 Cascade St.
