Larsen and Thompson discussed how the library system is dealing with COVID-19-related restrictions. They reviewed the library’s new contact-free service for picking up physical items reserved by customers. Larsen even stepped in and delivered a bag of library materials to a customer at the Mukilteo Library front door.

Larsen also toured the interior of the library with Library Manager Jane Crawford. Crawford pointed out the personal protective gear worn by library staff as they are preparing customers’ materials for the contact-free pickup service. He also saw the closed crates being used to quarantine materials returned to by customers for at least 72 hours.

At the time of the visit, the Snohomish Health District was conducting COVID-19 drive-through testing in the Mukilteo Library parking lot. Congressman Larsen also met with Heather Thomas and other health-district staff members.
