If you can picture yourself in the library, April 8-14 is the time to share it with others.
This is the 60th anniversary of National Library Week. The theme is “Libraries Lead,” the honorary chair is the acclaimed ballerina and author Misty Copeland. Sno-Isle Libraries is marking the milestone by asking library customers to a snap a photo of themselves and post it to social media tagged with #snoisleselfie.
“We’re hoping our great customers will mark the occasion by snapping pictures of themselves visiting our libraries or using our services outside of library walls,” said Ken Harvey, Sno-Isle Libraries director of communications. “Do you listen to an audiobook on your bus commute? Curl up on your couch with a book? Learn with a Lynda.com video or do research on your home computer? Here’s a chance to show the world how libraries are part of your life.”
The Washington Library Association is also getting in on the selfies-in-the-library fun with their own #LibrarySnapshot campaign.
