Bookmobile will pop up more this summer

The Library on Wheels crew will make extra stops this summer to spread the word about Sno-Isle Libraries services and Explore Summer events and reading programs.

Sno-Isle Libraries Library Associate Kristi Sheeler, right, helps with an art project during a recent Bookmobile stop in Lynnwood.

The Bookmobile will have four “pop-up” stops at McCollum Park near Mill Creek on July 2 and 16 and Aug. 6 and 20. Go into the parking lot for the park from 2-4 p.m. each day and look for the big blue Bookmobile.

In conjunction with Oak Harbor School District’s Free Summer Food Service Program, the Bookmobile will head to Oak Harbor for stops at Crescent Harbor Elementary School and Hillcrest Elementary School. On July 25 and Aug. 1 and 8, the Bookmobile will be at Crescent Harbor Elementary from 11 to 11:45 a.m. each day, followed by a stop at Hillcrest Elementary from noon to 12:45 p.m.

“By visiting the schools that are the farthest distance from the Oak Harbor Library, we hope to better connect with kids and families who may have limited access or knowledge of our local public library and the services available to them,” said Oak Harbor Librarian Jane Lopez-Santillana.

The final extra Bookmobile summer stop will be at Mukilteo Lighthouse Park from 6-7:30 p.m. Aug. 14.
