Sometimes life comes at you, making your brain bounce around like a ping pong ball.

How do you calm yourself?

Bella rocking her poop bag

I like to take my dog for a walk and practice mindfulness, a technique in which one focuses their full attention only on the present, experiencing thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the moment.

Well that sounds easy, who needs a book? Listen to the birds, smell the fall leaves, absorb the surroundings. Ninety seconds later my mind is bouncing around between making to do lists and worrying about the future.

Looks like I need guidance.

Fortunately, the Sno-Isle catalog has 751 items for a keyword search for mindfulness.

Another great resource are the research databases from Sno-Isle. (This list was created using the NEW “all databases” search found on our Research page.)

Please enjoy some of these suggested titles.

I really enjoyed this post. Focusing on the present and not worrying about the future seems to be an especially tough thing for me to do these days.

    Bella looks glam as always!

Not every dog can carry off the poop bag bow like Bella
