National Book Critics Circle Awards

Each year since 1976 the National Book Critics Circle awards books published in English in six categories: Autobiography, Biography, Criticism, Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry. Certain genres are excluded, including cookbooks, self-help books, reference books, picture books, and children’s books. Here are the winners for the 2016 publishing year!

The recipient of the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award is acclaimed novelist Margaret Atwood.

Man Booker International Awards (Longlist)

The Man Booker International Prize was first established in 2005 to award an author for a body of work written in any language, provided it is widely available in English. Previously given biannually, 2016 marked its first year as an annual award. Last year’s winner was The Vegetarian by Kang Han. We don’t have many of the longlist titles in our collection, but they have the full list on their website. Here are the titles we currently own.

IACP Cookbook Awards

The International Association of Culinary Professionals awarded these winners at their annual conference in Louisville. Books may be entered into sixteen different categories. Here are some of the winners, and Eater has the complete list on their website.

iHeartRadio Music Awards

The iHeartRadio Music Awards award popular artists and music as determined by iHeartRadio‘s listeners. Here are winners in just some of the categories. Check out their website for a full list!

  1. Jamie Holland says:

FYI, the Romance Writers of America announces their annual “Rita” award finalists in March of each year. Winners are revealed at the annual conference each summer.

  2. Lindsey says:

Thanks, Jamie! We do have the RITA Awards on our schedule but we only post about the winners. Many of us here are romance readers so I’m really excited to see who wins at RWA this year!
