So Long, Folks!

Well, the time has come to formally change out of our blogging hats and move our creativity to a different social media venue.

A lot has changed since the blog started in 2014, including how teens talk and share online. We think there might be better ways to communicate than a blog, and we’re going to focus on finding that path now.  We’ll be posting loads more on Instagram – including links to booklists, events, and bookish memes – so be sure to follow us there!

Our website will remain the same great resource that it’s always been for finding books, movies, tv shows, and music, and don’t hesitate to reach out to us via our virtual reference help if you’re in need of assistance finding what you need.

Readers’ Corner: If You Liked Dumplin’

Did you catch the Netflix premier of Dumplin’ on December 7th? This movie based off the delightful novel from author Julie Murphy spotlights a full figured teenager, a beauty pageant, and a love affair.

The hilarious, quietly poignant, and provocative Willowdean finds herself, although largely overweight, someone who is worthwhile and deserving happiness. This heroine is a great role model for self-empowerment. The novel is full of positive messages and lessons about not letting your appearance define you or what you do. This week’s Readers’ Corner is full of fun Dumplin’ read-a-likes promoting diversity and inner beauty that will keep you going strong, or going home!

Check out our November 29th BookTube post to watch the official trailer!
